Hi.
We have an early 1992 928 GTS USA version in the shop. I know it should be considered a 1993, but every other one that I have seen has been R-134a refrigerant. Anyone else seen this interesting little issue with a GTS they worked on?
Thanks!

Cool! Being in your shop, you must be fixing a leak. Does it have barrier hose?
Since I recently refurbished my 90' R-12 system with new o-rings and barrier hoses, I noticed that you can buy new Nippondenso 10PA20C compressors for $250 on ebay. That's cheaper than most rebuilds. How could one get the proper compressor adapters to build hoses for one of these later compressors on the earlier cars?

The hose connectors on the compressor come off with a couple bolts each, making it possible to fit your old connectors to the new compressor.
Good find on the e-bay units, BTW.

Hi guys,
I am familiar with servicing these cars, just hadn't seen a GTS with r-12. Anyway, be very careful with the ebay units. There are four almost identical nippon denso units that have slightly different bolt hole locations.
Thanks

My early '93 GTS came with R-12.

Since euro '92 GTS's use R-12 it would be odd if US version wouldn't. Production numbers were so small on last years there was no point doing anything differently unless it was absolutely necessary.
