"Miserable, straight talkin', SOB" has been used as much more accurate approbation......though, as an approbation....it clearly walks a narrow line.......

Included in the 39 Johnsons in our data base is one Todd Johnson AKA low miler. He is as real as anyone else . Maybe the issue is when somone has been doing something for money but stops and now just does it for pleasure it is hard for some people to forget that they used to be a pro .

Hi,
I've spoken to todd several times and I believe he is a 928 "expert" if there is such a thing,. He is very honest and his opinions ,in my mind ,should be taken seriously. He has never seen this car he has only told us that it would be a great buy at the price offered, and obviously he knows it takes an inspection before buying, so if its a turd then don't buy. He has walked away from several "good buys" in the past.
Todd don't worry about Gretch......

. . . which, of course, is why Todd says:

It seems more than a bit odd to me that anyone who knows anything about cars would *ever* suggest someone buy a car sight unseen. Right now. It seems even more odd that the person suggesting one do that hasn't seen the car either. Let alone done due diligence on said car.

Sounds like a Charlie/Danny Schmitt advert to me.
Lotsa sizzle, but where's my steak? And who put this hamburger in front of me?

Todd, people do appreciate the heads up. If you are trying to help out the community, great. But, if you really want people to believe you're giving them a constructive heads up instead of hustling yet another deal in your 'retirement', perhaps you could give some particulars and not sound exactly like you're selling the thing yourself. Especially when you haven't even seen it.

Just a thought,

Greg

I like the idea of a 928 taking folks out for the sole purpose of convincing them its time....."to get reality on the team". I think these cars are Porsche's Red Headed Step Chillins and born knowing life will be discontinued in a few years.....Its no worse then giving the keys to a 16-17 year old........

It would seem to me more odd to suggest anyone knowing human beings would *ever* judge someone before doing due diligence on the said person. I happen to know Todd and comparing him to Schmidt would have me believe your fresh out of high school and sitting behind your computer where its commfy to throw insults.

I have sold over 70 cars on Ebay and ALL but one I have been sight unseen. Luck? Could be or its my understanding of what good people are about. I want a new 928 owner to feel good about his quest coming to a close in a positive way. I got hammered for just trying to do the car its due.........It seems people just bitch about PRICE GOUGERS like WILLHOIT (928 Messiah) or cannot believe someone is making money off of "us 928'ers" like we live in communist China and not America. I have not felt so "check the box if you like me" since 5th grade. Go get in your car take it down to the spot and do what your supposed to be doing instead of wondering weather or not 9k is good for a low mile 928.......what is this community coming too.

For those out cruising while I write this ignore my post. I tried to come back and see how things were going but the few with no lives just seem to make it no fun........Hey Todd whats your PAYPAL!! HAHAHA Looks like another 928 was saved from UNDERSALE!!

P.s. Todd does not sell 928's for the sole purpose of money even though his eye for spotting the deal then using his due diligence to inform me of it so we can stop the senseless price grunging these cars take because of a water pump and timing belt. I do the car a favor by showing off the good stuff.....

Most under priced car on the market........

seanball,

THANK YOU!

Hell, I can't even do any favors on this site anymore without being shot down as though I still have my "greedy" little hands involved in EVERY single 928 deal on the continent.

This thread started as a simple "heads up" on a great deal for any, so called, "fellow Rennlisters" and I was immediately shot down as though I had something to gain. $9000 for a 35,000 mils S4? Part the damn thing out if you don't like, and still make $5000!

I'M OUT OF THE BUSINESS! YOU WON! EVERY 928 IN THE COUNTRY CAN NOW BE UNDERSOLD AND YOUR ALL THE BETTER FOR IT.

Now, if we can just sabatoge Willhoit in some way, our job will be complete!

I have no proof, not even any heresay but IMHO..Just look into odometer rollback. ALL of his 928s seem to be lower mileage. I always wonder how the same person can consistantly come with the same "type and condtion" 928's Anyone else notice that? . Id like to know where HE gets them as id try and snag one my self before he does!
Again, that is my opinion and im sure it will ignite somehting on here.
