Default "Sharks in the Ozarks" gathering?

If anyone is interested, the KC Wrenching Society is hosting a get together at the Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri, Sept 24-26. I am happy to extend an invite to all 928 owners and hope to see some of you down there. Its a pretty easy drive from Wichita, KC, St. Louis, Tulsa and Arkansas, the Lake of the Ozarks is located in central Missouri and offers incredible driving roads, a wide variety of dining and lodging options to fit every budget, and a wide array of entertainment options. We are going to meet up down there for a weekend of fun and Porsche comraderie, and y'all are invited!

We have arranged for rooms at the premier resort in the area, Tan-Tar-A (a Marriott property) with rooms for $99/night, including secured parking in a underground garage, and there are plenty of other less expensive hotels nearby as well. We have a variety of activities planned, including a shine 'n' show, a rally/cruise, and a BUNCH of "bench racing". I am also hoping we can talk Wade and Pete into showing up and we'll have a jam session ala 944Fest. Depending on interest, we will also have a couple of tech sessions (anyone want to learn about the infamous P9201 belt tensioner tool should chime in if you are interested, we can do a belt tensioning tech session, if you'd like).

Complete details are posted on the KCWS web site (www.kcws.org), and we have an information packet available in a MS Word format that we can email out upon request. You can also contact me directly at sh944@rennlist.com or call me at 785-865-3435 for more info. RSVP's would be gretaly appreciated!

Excellent! I'm assuming you will be commuting, so we won't put you on the room list. We look forward to seeing you there!

Excellent! Can I talk you guys into bring some of your shark owning friends with you? With all the shark owners in Wichita, KC and Tulsa, I would think we could get a pretty good group together.

Heads up, evidently our room rate is $105.95 per night. Sorry about that, there was evidently some confusion on their side that I didn't find out about until today.

Also, Tan-Tar-A will not be able to start taking resevrations until Tuesday the 24th, so hold off for a couple of days before calling. Their reservation number, by the way, is 800-826-8272. Many thanks to Lee Lichtenstein for helping catch some of this...

Let me know if any of this poses a problem for any of you, and I will see if I can figure out a way to make it worth your while! I hope we see a LOT of y'all out there!

Okay, here's the latest...

Call Tan-Tar-A at 800-826-8272 and tell them you are with the KC Wrenching Society, and that will get you the group discount on the room. At this point, they *might* quote you $105 per night, but I have been talking with the reservations manager and have been assured that by the time we show it, you will be paying $99 per night.

Also, please help spread the word, we want to make this a good party, and everyone is welcome to attend! I'd hate to have to invite my Dad's Pontiac Fiero club buddies down to help fill the place up! On second thought, that would sort of be like shooting fish in a barrel, right? lol

I'd love to, but I don't have enough vacation time built-up on the new job... :/
Maybe next year...
