The BBS's do look really nice for real. And they are lighter to. I'm leaning to those now hellllllp. Would 275's and 235's be okay for rear and front 9.5 and 8.5" rims without a floppy roll over look?

I've always had a problem with any wheel when it has a large and thick "lip" or a large portion of the outer section "metaled" out, meaning on open space. Look at a 928 with some turbo twists, or some R-Kenesis, and you may see what I mean.

Sheesh, I never looked at this thread until today... I kinda knew there was a love-hate opinion of the BBS style wheels, especially the gold ones, but I didn't think it was quite so extreme in most cases.
The BBS wheels really aren't that hard to clean. I waxed them once over a year ago, (they're clearcoated/anodized) and spend about 20 seconds per wheel with a long-bristle, soft scrub brush when I wash the car, and they stay perfectly clean.
Here's a ridiculously big picture of how they normally look:

Fun to watch your Shark go together.
I LOVE your bike. I rode for quite a few years, I had a Kawasaki 750 3 cylinder 2 stroke that couldn't be touched from stoplight to stoplight. It was bored and blue printed and at the time (78 - 79) it was an animal. I can't imagine the rush your rocket gives off

Dude . . You knew posting this that everyone has different tastes. You know I dig those BBS's and when I dropped off your S4 and I had the Euro washed & spit shined it was looking good. Sure it needs paint, who cared at the time. The car would run circles around a lot of others and probably would have smoked your S4 especially if I was driving it. The wheels look 80's, who gives a ****. If my memory serves me corectly it's an 85? Hmmm. . Wheels from the 80's on an 80's car. The wheels have a classic look. It's a no brainer in my book, keep them or i'll take them. End of story! BTW . . Put the fatties (275's) on them. If you don't, I know you won't be happy until you do.

Is there an argument I am missing here?

sport wheels
I found a 996 sport rim for my car. They are 18" 10 spoke arch and I have changed the centers over to a porsche emblem. They have a dark silver metallic spoke and polished lip. Best thing is that they dont rub at all.
