Quitting smoking will do more for you than removing your cats. In fact, if you quit smoking, you'll save enough money do to the job on your 928 right...
Same applies to Jack '84 928s: Fix your own emissions first!

Hey Mike,
I thought your car had a general case of lethargy on warm days - have you fixed that? - if not, then being catless, adding X-pipes, or even S/C' ing are a little futile until the car runs correctly.
Moderate reductions in back pressure mostly generate modest horsepower gains, which always reflects in higher top speed; however, in the real world of street driving, torque almost always rules - and that is what you enjoy in a 5l 928 as you scat down to the 7-11 for a pack of smokes: whoops - sorry, you just quit!

Do it right, do it with a high flow metal cat! Make sure the cat is the same distance from the engine as stock, so it can function properly (heat up quickly during engine warm-up and not overhiead). You can combine the best of both worlds. It costs a little more, but is the right thing to do. Others have done it and survived.
BTW: Adding GTS mirrors to your car adds 3mph in top speed. Without any negative effects on air quality...

I would be glad to post the dyno results, I will try to remember to bring to the office tomorrow and scan. The only 'mod' is the XPipe minus cats.
And as you stated Nicole you can attach high flow cats to the X Pipe.

[QUOTE=Garth S]Hey Mike,
I thought your car had a general case of lethargy on warm days - have you fixed that? - Hi Mr.Garth S - - I replaced the fuel damper and pressure regulator .I still have the same problem, but the stench of gas is almost gone-Unless- I'm on the highway going up to 220 coasting back to 118 ,then flooring again at 118 and doing it a few more times all the way home from the Lake. Still at about 118 I get proper kickdown, go up to 120 and it up upshifts at 4100- 4200rpm. Just thinking about this frustrates me! Where did I put that bail of tobacco! Mike

Again, I think X-Pipes are cool, but only when combined with cats. I've been told that Loui has a version that works with cats. Correct me, if I'm wrong.
No cats = uncool.

We wanted to do a run with cats but we had a good turnout so there was no time.
Yes, you can run the hi-flo cats with Louie's X Pipe. I know of a GTS with the hi-flo cats with the X Pipe and the dyno results were not good. However the low dyno #'s are not necessarily the fault of the hi flo's.

Reason why I ask is I'm about to pull the cats off my car.
Mark Anderson's race car doesn't have CAT's installed.
Mark Anderson puts more miles on his race car than I do my street car.
Where do you draw the line?
Boats don't have CATS, they also dump fuel into the water.
Buses, Semi's and garbage trucks don't have CATS.
The above three put more pollution into the are in Chicago alone then every 928, with or without CATS.
