The Florida heat and humidity finally abated enuff on Saturday (thanks to a NICE cold front that came thru - upper 60's Low in AUGUST!!??!!) to get out and do a good hand washing of the Shark with Dawn. I DID NOT Clay Bar - it wasn't THAT cool outside! Just a thorough wash. A good towel dry - and into the garage with the A/C - hey - that little window unit had it down to only about 84.
I applied the RejeX and let dry to a haze. I was amazed at how easily this stuff wiped off. NO BUFFING! Just a nice easy rub down took it right off. I especially liked how it did not 'glop' and dry crusty white in the body panal seams nor did it leave the usual, hard-as-hell-to-remove white smears on the rubber (like the spoiler) that are a PITA to get off with 'normal' waxes.
I let her sit in the garage overnight to 'cure'. Sunday - late morning - I backed her out into the sun. WOAH - WHERE ARE MY SUNGLASSES?!?!? A SUBERB, deep, almost-wet-look shine. It looked even better than when I had a Professional Buff Polish Wax and Detail done some months back!! Rubbing my hand over her - she had NEVER felt sooo smmmoooottthhh. I pulled the 'cellophane glove' out of my (unused) clay bar package and ran it over the paint. It, too, was SMOOTH! Even my 14 year old commented on the shininess.
Sunday evening - about sunset - the ultimate test. Driving on a country road - got into one of those quick little drizzly mini-showers. I reached my destination and checked things in the parking lot. The beading was unreal. With the light drizzle, the beads were not the little 1/4" puddles on the car as usual, but rather teeny tiny little beads abut the size of a pencil lead - that turned into pin-point drops as the water continued to evaporate - eventually just disappearing. On my way home later in the evening, I hit a similar, but shorter, drizzle...parked in the garage and just backed her out into the sunlight this morning. NOT A SINGLE WATER SPOT - and the surface is still smooth as a baby's butt! And shiny as can be.
Tip o' the hat to Barry and X-Products. This is BY FAR the best 'wax' product I have ever applied.

Richard-
Ask for Barry when you call. He's usually busy but will get back to you if you leave a message:

There is another thread on this on our board and larger one on the "911" board that started it.

My RejeX experiment tentatively scheduled for this weekend. Depends on how things go with my various washer systems, as I know I'm going to make a mess fiddling with those.

Don't worry Mark, Barry has your check in the mail
. Seriously it sounds like a winner to me. I just waxed with Horse**** Macquires. When that crap wears off my Rejex should be here by then.

Maybe he'll let me fake a hyper British accent and star in an Infomercial!
This stuff IS impressive - BUT - if it didn't look any better then the other stuff out there, the EASE of application would be worth the change!

Mark,
Thanks for the user report on the RejeX....sounds like I should give it a try while I still have my Shark. The RejeX shine might help hasten the adoption process...

Hi Joe--
I'm interested in seeing the differences between the Meguiars shine and the Rejex. Just did a three-step 3M/Meguiars treatmen on my black '89. It looks great and will until I have to wash it. It's that part that I hope the Rejex will take care of.
For thos following along at home, the best appearance of the paint seems to be after the glaze but before any wax is applied. If the wax glorifies your shine, your prep stages may not have been done completely. The only reason we add wax or the Rejex stuff is to protect a shine that's already there. In my limited experinece anyway...

Mcguires is not bad. I did a simple application mainly for weather protection. I am anxious to use the Rejex since it is getting wide wave reviews.
Dr.B, Your car is just sweet to begin with so you do not need much to improve it. I do not think you even can improve it. Not to factory specs anyway.

Well, I reported my initial impressions on the RejeX experiment here. That was about a month ago; there are more pics at the link above, but here is one for reference:
Since that time, the car has been a daily driver, with a couple of medium trips(i.e. Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay). At night I get all dust off with a California Car Duster and put the regular "outdoor" Posche cover on it and yes, park it on the street. About once a week I hosed off the brake dust and gave the wheels a wipe. The car does sit in a garage structure all day at work, so it gets very little exposure to the elements.
Anyway, this weekend I hosed it off and gave it a careful wipedown with running water and a microfiber sponge. All the bugs, road stuff, etc. just melted away. No effort, I only had to touch them with the sponge. It looked fantastic, and the water was beading up like crazy. I took it for a spin-dry, but found to my chagrin that in the places where the water didn't blow off, there were white spots. Hard water.
The spots came right off though; all I needed to do was wipe them with the MF sponge and dry the surface and they were gone.
In direct light you can see that it doesn't quite have the same deep shine as it did a month ago. It's more apparent at night under the harsh lights at the gas station. Also it's not quite as slippery. But overall it still looks fantastic. From a few feet away it's just a black mirror... it's usually the shiniest car wherever I go.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
The camera is especially nice to it; take a look at the pic below! I'm going to hit it again with RejeX before Sharktoberfest, but I have to say... honestly... that my car rarely looked this good a week after a fresh coat of carnauba.
I'm very happy with RejeX, and will continue to order it.![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
