Default Mpls dyno run on Tuesday

(cross-post from email list. )

Gents,

I'm taking my shark in for some dyno tuning next Tuesday 7/27 from 4-5. I asked and they have time available on either side of this. I believe the price is $50 for one run, $75 for two or $120/hr. Nice to see what you've got going on under the hood.

My car uses CIS (K-jet) so it is easy to tune. Those with L-jet and LH-jet aren't so lucky as you've got to "chip" it.

Elite Auto Sport
261 North 26th Ave.
Minneapolis 55411
Tel. 612-521-0550

Their location is just east of 94 in north Minneapolis.

Drop me a line if you're in or will be dropping by. I've got the right tools to tweak your CIS car if you're up for that.

I'd love to, Glen, but Sharky is still being uncooperative. Post your numbers when you're done!

BTW, where can you get an alignment done in this town?

cheers

I've gotten good alignment work done at Courtney Truck Service in Eden Prarie. Their main business is truck repair but do some car work. The owner is a 911 racer and they handle a good number of Porsche cars. They've got the right Hunter alignment rack for the 928.

Lags,

Fairly good. Got 255 rwhp out of the re-built engine. Wanted 265 but feared 235 so fairly happy. I've got a longer report on another thread:

Thanks Glen.

I would be happy with those numbers since your rebuild dyno'd right where the factory says you should have. Good job!

Those are good numbers and should make for a good running car. I have often wondered if Porsche went to the 32 valve head as a marketing move more than to squeeze power out of the cars. Seemed very popular in the mid to late 80s to go to a 4 valve head configuration. It is clear to me had they gone to 5.0 liters and opened up the 2 valve heads that the cars would have made nearly equal power and would have been less complex.

I've heard that the 4-valve heads were needed to make tightening emission while maintaiing good power.
