Default Shipping car to 928 international or Devek.

Come this winter, I've been thinking of possibly shipping my car to the California pro's for a total maintenance once over with any needed repairs .I'd like to get the car almost perfect ! Plus GTS body work and exhaust done in preparation for a supercharger for next spring. Has anyone done this and were there any problems with keeping the car there for a lengthy period of time. I'd fly down in the springtime to pick it up. Do you think it would be better just to get really nice GTS. Anyone? Remember I live in edmonton canada. GTSs' are more than rare. Mike

Yeah, send it on down to 928 International. Does it have a lot of nice mmmm... parts? I could use a small speaker grill.

Mike 928 Int only disassembles 928s to sell for parts. I am sure they could recommend a good shop though.

Dave @ 928 Spec also does these kind of projects. Depending on which part of CA you're in, it may be closer...or farther...

928Spec is in Western North Carolina.

I will throw in Precision Motorwerks in Anaheim not too far from 928 Intl. Greg is the go to guy around these parts. 714-879-9072 Might give Mary a call to see if they would want a lengthy project like that. They have a pretty small shop.

Dave can do the work/get it done. With ALL costs you're looking at around 15K. Buy a GTS.

928 specialguys eh! One thing ! Why would someone want to restore a piece of crap like the red car and turn it into a beauty. All that time ,money. Why not just get a clean machine and get rid of that red zit!?

IIRC. The car belonged to the father who was the original owner. The kid learned to drive in the car. Money wasn't the object, sentimental value was.

Some have sentimental attachments to their vehicles, others like a real challenge. Why not do the restore yourself. I thought I read that you are a stay at home dad. Be a fun project and you would really no the ins and outs of the vehicle. BTW, always love your avatars. Your a funny guy.

There is no LOGICAL reason for owning any 928 , no logical reason to restore one .............. now that that is out of the way , I sure do love driving the old very brown 928 , get real excited hearing the exhaust note on Mark's race car ......... think a GTS is beautiful any GTS . Actually enjoy working on the cars ......... think the early 928 with no spoilers looks wonderful (if lowered a bit) ......... wish they had never put sunroofs in them so I could drive a newer one . Plus I have been able to meet and talk with a whole bunch of really nice people who also own 928s . It is the emotions that count not the logic .

Uh JE928SX4 -I now understand. Thanks. Goliver, thankyou.--- I have a terror 4 and a sweety 7. We are a very close unit . All the way from coloring to sometimes wiping their butts. If you have not been a "MR.MOM". It may be a little difficult to understand. Before the "role reversal". I'd say to my wife how easy and great she had it! And if I were at home the house would be immaculate and the kids would end up disciplined in the finest military fashion. I found out I was totally full of sh%it!! The house is usually a mess and the kids discipline me! What a zoo!I take them all over, airports ,trainyards, zoo, museums, science center, anywhere I can make them understand how the world works. I cook, try to clean, wash clothes, yard work. I'm the home millwrite, fix everything! Have you ever tried to do anything for yourself with 2 nosepickers stuck to your legs wanting to get involved in everything your doing? Greatest compliment ever I know ,but I have to lock the door when I go to the john just to get a bit of a read. When I repaired my tranny I tell you ,it was a lesson in patience! My kids were always nearby even under the car! Then the other neighborhood nose pickers would come by. Why this why that they would say-total distractions. But hey ,I couldn't tell them to bugger off! So to sum up . I don't think I have the time. It would take me away from the kids. Winter is coming and it gets seriuosly cold here! Working on the car then would be very uncomfortable. Also with my prior injuries it would be -work on car Monday, heal Tuesday, possibly Wednesday. THAT REALLY SUCKS! .. I've learned a lot being a mom! Putting up with jokes from the neighbor guys. Patience with kids. The most ironic thing of all is ,the housewives say" I've got it easy staying home with the kids." For ages we've all heard housewives bitchin about how hard they have it! I'm doing the exact same thing they are. And more, the manly stuff as well! I'll NEVER UNDERSTAND WOMEN!!!

That was the GTS Eric Munk SC'd (or something like that, as you noted) for a previous owner which was returned back to stock and restored for the current owner. It's once again a gorgeous car.
