Hey Big Dave, it is really nice to see someone have such generosity. That is a trait not common these days. I wish I had something to donate now...

When the bad news comes back, don't fret. Negotiate a good settlement and get another. Start your shark hunting now, so you have a worthy replacement in mind.

By the way - Owen Sound and surrounding area - one of the most beautiful places in the world. I am envious.

Best of luck.

I've heard, and it's obviously not relevant to your situation since the car runs, that it's very easy to snap off the cam gear/snout/distributor/rotor in these sorts of collisions, resulting in valve/engine damage if the cams and crank get out of time.

Brian it takes a pretty big hit to shove things back far enough to trap the timing gear and break a cam but I have seen that . Part of our risk when we buy a salvage auction car is that the motor may NOT be good . The salvage cars they NEVER EVER start them it is as is PERIOD !!

Guys we need to find him another car , 5 speed . The insurance company has decided to punt . We spoke over the phone and one thing is clear to me he really loved his 928 , planned to keep it for ever and in an instant some idiot pulls a u-turn in front of him and takes it all away . I recommended he find some "comparables" on Autotrader , tally all his receipts for the last three years and 5,000 Km of ownership and prepare to do battle with his insurance company . (no fault insurance) .

Bill,
This one just went by on ebay.ca - out of Mississauga. It is an '85 Euro blk/blk 310 hp auto, but looks worth exploring. Bidding did not exceed $5K, not meeting reserve. It is close enough to take a look ....
