For anyone doing this I can say the biggest challange I have in the entire process is getting the 40 year old, baked on gasket off of the valve plates and housing.

withough A little gasket solvent ts not going anywhere.

And using plastic raisor blades is like skinnig a rabbit with a spork...

all the best,

Hello again!.

just as an update I has to use a solvent to get the gasket material off with the Fisher Price razorblades. if you do that thake care, getting the solvent off is a pain, I washed my parts in kerosine which disovlved the solvent and left a residue, this took time to correct.

therefore I had to clean a second time.

Compressor is assembed today, pollised the shaft more than my own when I was 13 so every hope of sucess.

Bitch is I get the entire compressor back together no troubles ...untill... I when to install the Oring on the Head side the Santech kit had 3 O-rings but one was way too big.

found his out on the home strech installing the last oring.

Funny though, had the TV running in the backround and Trump says we do not buy US Cars in Europe (always put this down to US using Plastic with leather texture for Dashboards). Guess it applies to Gasket kits too?

Oh Well.....looks like the IKEA missing part syndrome is an international problem....

Pretty much done here, just a couple of observations:
No Way you can dig out thoese old Orings without removing the Fuel Cooler.

They are in there hard and too deep to dig out

Pulled the injector clamp as well to get More movement in the line to fit the new Expansion Valve

New Valve connections were maybe 1-2mm to far apart on the motor side. there may be good aftermarft ones but this was not it. After fidling all possible connectons for 6 hours I gave up and put the original Porsche part back in

Original Porsche in under 30 minutes. yes expensive, but love OEM <img src=" class="post_inline_image" data-size="2000x1504" loading="lazy" />

spoke too soon....just had a 6 hour wrestle with the AC compressor....Compressor one rounds one and two.

Lines in all good, cant get it to line up with the supports holes though.

Have it on a jack , lift it into place & just as the holes are about to line up i catch somthing out of view and start to lift the motor.

Any words of wisdom or is there a trick to this?

all the best,

DDay
