Default Twins Screw Supercharger pics/update

Welllllll.........................

Its about 80% done but with commitments at home and my own FU#$g fault of not starting this little endeavor 2 weeks earlier, im not going to be able to drive it to the IOC and “show it off” the way I would like and in the condition id like. Im still waiting on some parts and my aluminum tanks to be made and the powder coater is backed up a bit. . Needless to say Im pretty bummed, i dont like to fail…….however, the sensible side of me says take my time and do the job right and as Lags told me, “you’ll be happy in the end“. I think he is right.

Anyway, I just wanted to share a glimpse of what is to come and what i had hoped to share with you all in Witchita before I head out.
The plan is a wrinkle black powder coat on the manifold and rear inlet to match the casing on the SC… gray cam covers with red letters to match my interior seats (kind of tie it all together) and cleaned up nuts, bolts, fasteners.

“Stock and awe” has been my approach and mindset. However, as you can see, having a 2.2L Autorotor supercharger on the top of your engine isn’t really a subtle thing but I want to try and make it look as if it belongs there.

The plan is 8-11psi using an intercooler, Ford cobra heat exchanger , boost sensitive regulator and ford racing 30lbs injectors. All on stock engine management with an LM-1 Wide band O2 sensor, I bought last week, wired in to monitor the air/fuel ratio. 400rwhp/400 rwtq to start with a goal of being a 500/500 club member providing Sub 4.3sec 0-60 and a a sub 12 sec 1/4mile. All do able with some thought, time and patience. Im just out of time at this point.

The plan now is to drive to Sharktoberfest as Im off to MN on Wednesday with the family for a month and the car will sit until I get back. This is how it sits as of an hour ago...ive psoted bits and pieces in the past but i dont think Ive shown a shot of the "big picture"

Ford Cobra heat Exchanger for the intercooler…tranny cooler just out of view

uhoh, where did that stock S4 throttle body go?!?! When all else fails, grab a beer, step back and improvise. (yes it works)

Aluminum HE coolant tank in fender with a 4" cone filter above.

Aluminum Expansion tank with the stock level sender incorporated

In a nut shell ,and in closing somewhat, before I leave my car on blocks for another month or so….
and hats off to Andy(twinscrew) Tim(Vortech) and John(turbos) with the work that they have all accomplished in pioneering there Forced Induction 928s. The work I have done has given me a GREAT appreciation of the work, money, time and thought involved to get these types of projects on the road.

So close yet so far.

catch y'all on friday for a few and a good BS session.

I can't believe nobody commented on this post. Tony, its looking good-- while your in there you should paint the valve covers black or you could paint the autorotor silver, but I think the black would look more stealth.

Nice work, keep us posted.

That intake setup is going to be bad-***. I can't wait to see how this thing is going to do on your car.

If you're aiming for 8-11psi range, you'll probably start the bar above 400rwhp.

That cobra heat-exchanger is pretty neat... I think i'm gonna have to check those out.

Slick spot for the intercooler heat exchanger......after spending lotsa time looking at alternatives for placing mine immediately in front of the AC condensor, I came to the same conclusion as you have. It turns out that a small radiator fits perfectly between the flaps and the front grill on my 89 GT and allows the flaps to work just fine.........

Now to add a little more air flow to the radiatior and I am all set......

It's going to look cool.

I think the all-black look, with some silver, is a good route to take.

Sure, all silver is cool, but you will end up looking like a typical american hot-rod.
I like the idea of a german hot rod better, with subtlety!
