If the light is coming on after you start the engine and or when driving, you should STOP starting the car and have it flat bedded to a know 928 shop.
If the belt is loose and jumps timing it will get very very expensive (pull engine and redo heads/valve job).

There's a ton of knowledgeable, experienced folks on the East Coast so hopefully one of them will chime in to offer some advice or direct help.

Good luck

There is also a retrofit spring tensioner option (Porken Tensioner) you can install when doing the belt and water pump - it never needs adjusting, just like a modern car. Have them in both my 928s.

Rich, Is Ray Munsch still around in Raleigh? It would be a nice idea IMO to get another NC 928 gathering going.

Hello Rich, I spoke with Brad, and it seems that he worked on the same issue previously and currently working another 928 as well for different issues. He is very busy currently and asked me to contact him next week. Thank you for the information.
