Classic case of cable cancer- very common on all 928's.
You will invariably need a new front of engine harness which contains the power feeder to the hot post and those cables located in the 14 pin connector next to it.
That cable is permanently hot and will form a very effective welding machine if it comes into contact with earth and such circumstances have been known to start wipe out fires. Note how the cables leaving the hot post are bright red- the cables feeding the hot post are meant to be the same colour!

I see, so basically one of these (https://928srus.com/products/front-o...rness-78-to-95) and I'll be good. Along with the A/C harness since it's an 85. Is this correct?

One of the cables in this harness feeds power to the electrically operated solenoid that locks the clutch to permit drive on the AC compressor
