Default Fighting the big shaft!

87 five speed, left rear Bilstein all set up, trying to get the shaft through, started from the front, a lot of grease. So got it to the shock but offset to the last bushing. Tried spinning and tapping on the front it’s hitting on the shoulder, pushing up with a kick stand does not help center it. Should it be put in from the rear?

Got it!, looking at the threaded end I got a flat blade screwdriver and pushed it toward the center while pushing and turning the bolt on the front and it advanced. So left side is together, still trying to get the right shaft out, double washers did not work.

There is a hole underneath where the pin goes through the rear LCA that makes it really easy to push the pin where you need it to go.

Hope that helps.

Did you double-check to make sure the shock is properly oriented? In other words, it's not in backwards?

I think I used a jack to help line up the shock mount hole with the control arm angle when I did mine.
