I'm down here working on the car and started to pull off all the rubber and trim on the doors to get ready for paint. SNAP SNAPP *******SNAP**** Is all I've heard all day. Everything I've touched has broken off in my hands hahaha. So if you guys have some of that stuff laying around I know a good home for it (possibly all of it if I keep breaking things)
I'm getting some pretty good pics

I gotta step in here...
OK do you have ANY idea the cost of replacing interior parts???
rear quarters in leatherette from Porsche about $1600 each
center console $1000
dash $1600 (before shipping)
the interior alone would bankrupt most people
that said, I got a pair leather rear panels good condition $800 for pair after being patient and haggling for days with the guy, THANK YOU 928Intl for graciously giving GREAT deals on many of the other interior parts
Jeff, I agree with Chris, while installing some panels I heard the same noise and it was the retainers, I hadn't put new ones on and the old ones broke, call 928Intl they are cheap so get LOTS of them

Guys,
Have you seen the rear quarter panels (tan leather) on eBay currently...ending soon if not already...for current bid of $100?
Can't be missed....check it out. I don't have the item # or I'd share it.
Cheers,
Tim

With the rear quarters, the important things is the panels, if they are in great shape you can get them both recovered in quality vinyl for about $250, crap panels are crap panels no matter what you cover them with.
Those Ebay panels look OK from the photos.
One of my interior challenges has been finding a good headliner, I think I have a good one on the way .. been looking for a couple of years. Naturally if I spent $700 problem solved ... got better things to spend that amount of money on.

Jeff,
If at all possible, try to go to a dismantler to see how all the trim pieces are mounted prior to putting pressure on a troublesome piece. Even if you can just examine the piece off the car, you can usually see how it is mounted in the car.
As rixter stated above, some parts are stupid expensive, though there is a way to get them off intact. The piece of trim around the shifter plate, and clock for example is small, relatively easy to get out, but if you bust or dent it, $$$!
With MBenz, if it is not coming out easy, it's not coming out right. However with Porsche, sometimes you need to pry, sometimes you will cry.
Best regards,
Mike
