Thanks for checking - I had no idea there was a 924 Weissach! Huh, wouldn't that be a nice collection? All the '82 Porsche models in Weissach trim - I'm almost sorry I didn't think of it before getting the '83s.

OK...here are my obligatory photos of Dennis's Weissach edition, complete with luggage. He's modded it a bit to include euro cams, rising rate fuel pressure regulator, Kinesis Supercup wheels, 8" headlights (sometimes), cat bypass and Borla exhaust, short shift kit, etc. etc. etc.

A special edition Weissach 928 #1 of 205 (5-spd) is for sale in the Alexandria, Virginia area. I took a look at it with Chuck Urban. It's going to need a new paint job, the rear interior 1/4's replaced, front seat leather repaired, wheels reanodized, spoilers replaced, sunroof seal replaced, 2nd gear synchro fixed and an undiagnosed engine overheating problem fixed just for starters. Comes with a junker 81 928 (5-spd) with no interior and doesn't run that might be worth $500.00 at best. Buyer wants $5,500.00 for both. Too much work and not eneough cash on hand for me. It's a shame to see Weissach #1 waste away.

Perhaps it would be really special if it were painted black, a 6-spd installed and it was located in Tobasco, Mexico.

It occurs to me now that I moved out of one of the most Shark infested states to one of the least. I may have even seen a Weissach in Jacksonville, NC. Can't really say since it was at a fair distance. But it did have the correct paint, body, and spoilers.

Dennis had the 8" lights on for a while but didn't like the look.

well if you want to buy a rare one then don't buya Weissach - they made 205 of them. From the Porsche web site "At the end of 1981 Porsche launched a special series of 140 Porsche 928 S cars in a meteor metallic finish to celebrate the company’s 50th jubilee. These exemplars were luxuriously fitted in wine red leather and fabric, and the seat backs were embellished with the ”F. Porsche” logo."
Incidently they also did 924 ( 600 custom models of the 924) & 911 (200 custom 911 SC models) versions - would be nice to have the set but I have never seen examples of the 924 & 911 versions.

On the left you can see mine on the Nurburgring

Ciao

Interesting that they are gold. I had a Weissach edition 911 that was dark grey metallic (Anthracite?) with light tan full leather sport seats with burnt orange piping on the seats and burnt orange carpet. It sounds ugly but actually was quite stunning. Other than the funky colors, it was a bone stock 911SC. The color of Dennis's car as well as the condition is awesome.

Regards,

Geoff

So right you are John Struthers....lol...it would take a "pretty" penny for the one in the garage...it just hit the 40,000 mark on it's last run out ....

God, you gott get out and drive it more, that car is almost as old as me and I've got more miles on my feet than it does on it's odometer! Well, maybe not, but I'm gaining!
