Ran across this beauty in a search for something else and had never seen this shade of green in the Porsche catalog: https://www.elferspot.com/en/car/por...-1977-2864872/

Cheers

Not that rare of a green on the early 4.5L cars but uncommon nonetheless. In the green family olive, fern and dark mint are far rarer.

What a lovely example that is, a real historic collector car. Interesting how it wasn't registered until 1981. Ex-factory car? Any ideas why that might be?

Dean's car was nick named Kermit, and was a gorgeous but much brighter metallic green.

In '78 there were 12 cars in Lindgrun (Light green metallic, color code Y1) in the US market, and 83 cars in the ROW market.

Also:
Fern green (P1): 1 US, 9 ROW
Olive Green (P2): 0 US, 13 ROW
Oak Green (Y4): 36 US, 229 ROW

A friend of mine would like a Continental Orange Euro 1978. Any idea how many were produced, and if any was "early" (without side repetitors)?

24 Continental orange cars in ROW, '78. Not sure when the side repeaters became a thing, the BAT archives has Euro VIN 0392 with no repeaters, while Euro 428 (that I sold) does have them. VIN 0392's production # is 328, while 0428's is 474. So- there's only 1 Orange 928 with production number lower than 328, and three lower than 474.

hmm we have conflicting information ;-)

9288100039 and 9288100040 were the first and second continental orange cars.. so very early and without side markers.

I had a continental orange car for a while too 9288101222:

I forgot to tell that it must be a manual.

Agreed on 9288100040, that's a Continental orange 5-speed, but for 9288100039 I show that as a silver 5-speed with AC. Entirely possible that PET has it wrong, particularly if you've laid eyes on 0039 and it's orange.

1222 is a 5-speed, production # 1441, German market (central dealer code 113)

18 of the 24 are 5-speeds, 6 are automatics.

It's not my favorite shade in general, but on this car, it looks pretty. Still, can't imagine driving something like this in the long run

Theu must have drilled holes to fit that S frontspoiler. Or perhaps one of the former owners did that. Same with my '78 car. Must have been to make it look more up to date in the 80s.
