Theu must have drilled holes to fit that S frontspoiler. Or perhaps one of the former owners did that. Same with my '78 car. Must have been to make it look more up to date in the 80s.
It was somewhat common to add the spoilers back then to make it look like a 300hp S.
9288100039 and 9288100040 were the first and second continental orange cars.. so very early and without side markers.

1222 is a 5-speed, production # 1441, German market (central dealer code 113)
I'm corrected here... there's a thread on pelican about 9288100039 where the owner reported it as "orange", then later it was revealed as a repaint over silver.
This poor 79 ROW started out as a light green metallic paint as you can see in the engine compartment. Its for sale for the same price those H4 headlights would run you.
