See, I'm not following the logic.
The Camaro was intended to compete in the pony car market. Sorta a cheaper, funner version of the American Mussle cars. As a result, it was never top of the line, even by GM standards.
The 928 was suppost to be Porsche bid aginst the American Mussle cars of the early 70s. It got delayed by the gas crunch in 1974-5, but eventualy was created as an almost no holds bar 928 bid for the evaporating Mussle car market. Go figure. About the only thing in the US that could dirictly compete aginst it would be the Corvette...
At least thats my way of thinking.

For anyone two guys to get together and one says to the other that the 928 is a chevy camero and the other agrees,-and a porsche owner I might add- it must of been an intimate moment for you. You sure he's just your -ahem-bud. Mike

I was once greeted by an instructor who - upon getting into the passenger seat - said ... "Well, let's see what this **** taxi can do" .... So that got me thinking ... If my Porsche is a **** taxi .... and this instructor is sitting in my passenger seat ... what does that make him? ...

Our cars are cool no matter what ignorant people say. I have had as many people say they it was the German Corvette as those that expressed a real interest in knowing what the "new" Porsche was called. To each their own.

Too bad that yutz has cut a gaping hole in his hood to put in that roots blower. A properly tuned twin screw setup will run circles around that awful sight and be so much more streetable... Well, I guess he might have been a "Manny Manta" in his prior car days..

Richard,
Sadly, there are more than a few folks on the planet who think carburetors are still viable, let alone Roots blowers. I recently had a conversation with a (self-admitted) "old-school builder" who argued that a Roots was just as efficient as a twin-screw. How the hell can you build engines for a living, and not know this stuff? I know change is hard, but c'mon.
Oh well, there's gotta be a left lip on any bell curve.
