Finally made my way to the smog station today (thought it was a good
idea since my pink notice gave me 'til the end of the month). The technicians had a little trouble entering the vin in their system (even with my printed notice), but finally got the test rolling.
Nice quick run on the treadmill with sniffer attached while I stood watching with fingers crossed. Shouldn't have worried, as CO and HC readings were approx 5 to 10% of allowable limits. Guess it's a clean machine!
p.s.: Anybody know a quick method to determine country of origin on a euro car? Curious where mine lived in its early years..

I'm happy you passed. I was thinking of an '83 Euro model myself but always figured IL emissions was too strict. In the end, I decided that I'd have to seriously expand my collection if I started including Euro models.

Well, just got back from another emissions test and the results are in:
This OB is one CLEAN machine! Was below 10% of any of the measured limits. Was surprised how much a non-event it was - usually the euro vin throws 'em a bit when setting up the paperwork. This time, the attendant's only question was "I give up, what model Porsche is that?". Guess we need more 928s in Illinois these days. I used to see quite a few, but only see maybe 3 others on a regular basis.
Thankfully, the roads had pretty well dried on the way home, so BWAAAAAAAHHHH it was![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
