Isn't that "strap" actually the negative battery cable? And wouldn't sticking metal under it be a bad thing???

Tom, Good call! The 95 GTS has it in tact. From what I can tell, it appears to be more permanently affixed at the top of the strap to the frame around the opening. I wonder if the 93 GTS's is pushed up behind the jack?

The part number is: 914.722.021.10

Here is a pic:

Of my three 928s, only the 91 GT had the strap = and it was a European delivery with the warning triangle in this place. Not sure what that means...

Chuck: Your '93 is the first 91+ that I see with a yellow screwdriver. All others I've seen from 91 onwards had a red one.

You mean he hasn't sent it yet?

The 95 had a yellow screw driver so I switched it with the red one that was in the 93.

Here is a pic of the mounting point for the strap in the 95. The 93 does not have the same set up, my guess is someone at the factory either missed installing it in this car. Picture below this post:

Interesting, one of my '87's (the very early flip-wing one) has a ton of this factory foam stuff ... I'll get in there this weekend and figure out what all is there.

I've go the rubber strap in my 1980 shark...but I've kept the jack in with the spare. Now I know where it goes!

I can never, ever let my wife see this thread. I knew there were people out there like me... wanting to do things "right", but she'd be in disbelief over this one...

I can't stop laughing!
