Im over East Northport, but July 11th ill be at the nassau colisium for the autocross. Come down they need another guy in the 928 class and he also has a 89 gt. I should have my rims by then too.

Lou,

I am planning on being there. I should have the suspension in this weekend, and have the car running well by then. See you there.

Hmmm... isn't a summer car without AC (or even a fan) kind of like a winter car without a heater? <brrrrrrrr> <sweat> <brrrrrrrr> <sweat>

Regardless, it is a very interesting project, and picturing this with a matching console and arm rests this would look really cool!

Nicole,
thats true but winter or summer my windows are down. By the way heres the bracket from the original dash after i stripped just about all the material off it. Now i need to trim it to make it lighter.

We don't get to see that "bracket" every day! Pretty interesting...

The hole saw would be more efficient ...swiss cheese the old dash . Mark Anderson here just runs a hard plastic dashtopper ($ 119 ) it weighs 1.9 lbs that is right less than 2 lbs ...with no DASH under it at all just some very little L brackets .

It looks really good to me, but I'm wondering what the glare off that shiny dash is going to be like. Any thoughts?

I suppose you could always make specific overlays, out of thin black foam, like they make double-sided tape out of... Put them over the pod area, or cover specific parts of the rest of the dash, where it reflects on the windshield....

B C , and one could end up covering nearly all of it since the car and the sun both move around a bit
