Default sump baffle/crank scraper

has anyone got any feedback on these mods, who is using them? here are some pics of what im looking at.

drnick,
mike schmidt has a setup like that that he designed for his car. not sure if he's active on this board though. he does frequent the email list.
ps did you get the sunroof?

tom,

believe it or not im yet to check my mail as that involves a round trip of several hundred miles... dont ask!

how might i contact mike and does he have the scrapers or sump baffle or both?

are you using a drysump?

nick,
mike has both scrapers and sump baffle. he's been very intent on also reducing the crankcase pressure as much as possible and last i heard, he had pretty much achieved that. very sharp cookie.

louie doesn't sell them, but knows who made them...not sure if the guy wants to make more, says they are "easy with a few hand tools"...obviously, I wasn't clear about how much stuff I've destroyed with just a screwdriver...

I spent a lot of time investigating and plotting on this during my recent rebuild...and then threw it together stock. Just didn't have the time or scratch to fab something.

What seemed easiest was to put some commercial diamond screen in the bottom of the pan underneath the crank. This is available at Summit and Jegs for this purpose.

How much are those scrapers?

ahhh...that is Louis Otts engine, I know cause I built it! Might want to ask him about the details.
