Eric couldn't take sitting in the passenger seat any longer, so he drove Samantha's car in front, and they were probably listening to music and enjoying an ice cold AC, oblivious to the events behind them.
Well, to get the record straight...I wasn't going 100 mph, but also not 70 mph. More like 95 mph in a long left curve, on the far right side of the road, when it felt like the car slipped from under me, in a side drift. I corrected with mild counter steer with foot off the pedals, thinking too much counter steer would cause it to dig in the pavement and cause it to tumble/roll. At that point I thought I lost the wheel all together or it may have ceased. It went well, I think...until I realized I needed to do the same in the reverse direction, as I headed for the median, but this time the outside tire is a good tire and the car became far more controllable, so I used the throttle to get me out of traffic as quickly as possible and went from far left to far right of the highway, to the grass.
One of the luckiest incidents I've had so far. Travelling uncontrollably from far right to far left and back to far right at speed and in traffic without killing myself or getting anyone else killed. There was a semi nearby, and travelled on my right as I headed to the median, so I became more concerned with the fact that it obstructed the view of other motorists and they could have easily collided with me as I zigzaged in front of them with little warning. I never realized I was capable of scanning all three mirrors so repeatedly and so quickly!!!!
My headlights are aimed a little too high and I'm sure Eric and Samantha never noticed my headlights going back and forth like a searchlight as my car danced behind them. I radioed them as I got to the grass, when they were wondering where I was.
Anyway...it could've easily been much worse...like when going at higher speeds earlier in the day... or if I had rolled, or collided with the median or traffic, etc. Thanks to Samantha who endured a Tarek/Eric roadside emergency event and for everyone's concerns. I have attended all of SITM events so far and I have yet to achieve my goal of making it back without issues. May be next time !!!

Tim,
Thank you. It was David Cmelik and Christine Conover. Very nice couple we had dinner with. Be careful though as they are both lawyers.
Nice meeting you David and Christine.
