Automatic Transmission Cable
What does this do and does it look correct?
In the process of installing my rebuilt transmission and want to make sure I don't need a new cable.
Thanks
Is there suppose to be something on the end of this??

My apologies, but the trolls/Forum moderators finally won, here.
I will never post anything helping people here, ever again.
As a matter of fact, I've be perfectly happy (overjoyed) if every single post I've ever made was completely removed!
I will continue to occasionally promote things, until they no longer allow that.
There may be tiny tidbits of information associated with those promotional items.
You can, for the time being, send me a PM.
Or, you can Email me at GregBBRD@aol.com
We will have a Website up, shortly.
I will, eventually, probably have a question/answer section, to go along with that Website.
Right now, sending any Email to the Precision Motorwerks web site is a waste of time.

Please add the year of the car to your signature as it really helps.
That is the pressure cable/kickdown cable. If you can expose the end of the cable at the gearbox end it will have a "hook" that attaches to a lever in the gearbox.
Change the O ring. Make sure the cable runs smoothly in the sheath.

I should of guessed that from the 85 in your signature.
The inner cable is available as a separate part 928 423 901 01. Can be replaced.

It looks like your cable end that connects to the transmission has the hoop on the end that the transmission lever can hook on to.
if the cable had something broken off, the new cable will have to be threaded into the sheaf. You’ll have to have a way of crimping/soldering the threaded shaft into the cable end that connects to the engine side ball socket.

FYI from the original picture it appears that the cable end that connects to the arm inn the trans is just stuck inside the the plastic housing,
try tapping the end of the plastic on a block of wood.
