I've said it before and I'll say it again... I love to see you pushing the boundaries, exercising your creative talent.... but honestly, I'm not feelin ya this time. That looks like a quality fab job in and of itself.... but... nah, 'nuff said.

SkarkSkin,

I don't expect you to understand, since you're ridin' "bareback":

BTW: Nice indexing of your Rennlist member items. I wish I'd done more of that. 200MB but no sub-directories?!
...

"All I wanted was a Pepsi (and she wouldn't give it me)"

I'm not totally sure where I'm going with this. I was thinking about a cover for the empty wiper mechanism indent and I got overcreative.

I was suprised that this prototype did create 10+lbs downforce, with only ~1lb added weight. So I'm learning something.

Can someone deacronym WWCLS for me?

Look to the left of where you first saw the acronym.

Actually, I wish I'd thought of that... put all the wiper hardware back in, there's your 10 pounds.

I know, I know... big difference between mass and downforce... but at less than .3% increase in mass, you will solve the problem in a way that looks like it belongs there.

True, I am riding "bareback". I like that it's different from even most other 928s. I really like how clean the lines are the way it is. Nicole mentioned a difference in drag coefficient, but I doubt there is a breakdown of front-only and rear-only differences in drag. I'm guessing that the change up front makes the bigger difference, but without the parts there is no way to test it. I can think of an experiment to get some relative numbers, but for true Cd you need a wind tunnel.

Anyway, the lines on the 928 being what they are, every small change is a big change in appearance. It doesn't always work aesthetically, at least IMO.

BTW, I've sent emails to Randy, who directed me to send emails to John... which I did repeatedly... regarding the rumour about FTP access for member webs. Resounding silence. Determined to work with what was available and having caught on to the single directory limitation, I just did what I had to to maintain my sanity.

Hmmm... lightbulb in head.... stay tuned, new poll on the way.

'what would chris lockhart say'

maybe remove the 's' spoiler and update to an s4 type wing with a little more height plus angle in its mountings.

I happened to be looking at the '81 dealer brochure and noticed that the wing on this car must be a prototype. It's similar to the (wind tunnel wing). Notice the height of the lip over the wiper indent:

(Note, for me the pictures only come up when click on the pic and select 'Open Image in New Window' and then refreshing the page; the Rennlist member server must be acting up.)

Also note the extra (air fill?) hole in the S-wheel.

I took my add-on wing off a while back, but now I'm considering putting it back on...
