So here's a picture of my car (first time ever moving under it's own power since I bought it 2 years and $20k ago) being driven around the parking lot. Still has less than a mile of driving but notice the huge wheel gap in the front. Looks like one of the 911 rally cars for the Paris - Dakar race..

What's your opinion on the 18's as far as drivability? Do you feel that it costs you some for having the 18's? I ask as I'm supposed to be buying a set of the Carrera III wheels over the Thanksgiving weekend and I go back and forth. I really like the look of the Carrera III's but worry they will appear to big or compromise the driving. The car has 17" chrome twist wheels which are in poor condition. The 17 does look good as far as sizing goes. Having never driven the car I don't have much to go on.

When I hear about "lowering a 928", I assume it means lower than the stock ride height, and agree with all the recommendations given against lowering.
Your current ride height looks significantly higher than stock in that picture. However, if the front suspension has not yet settled after the car has been lifted, then the actual ride height is not yet known, and will not be known until the car's suspension has settled. A good guess, if the car was just lifted, is that it still has about an inch to settle.

That does not look right. To me, it looks even higher than a 928 fresh off a lift. Are you familiar with the need to let the suspension settle after the 928 has been raised with it's suspension uncompressed? (Edit: I read your first post again - what you are hearing about the need for the suspension to settle is correct. There is also a method to force it without having to drive it 200 miles).

Yeah I hope it settles out. It looks terrible as is.
