Default Lowering ride height on a 928

Hi all,

Just picked up a 84 928 (auto), installed new boges all around. Ride height is way up (looks like a 4x4). I noticed the rears have somewhat an inverted coilover from the factory and looks like it can be adjusted via perch. I looked at the front and didn't see anything, is there a way to lower the fronts?

I will play with the rears using perch adjusters that I used on my 964 suspension, just wanna find out is there a way to adjust the fronts?

Thanks

GP

The front Boges should have adjustment as well...........but you must drive the car for at least 50 miles to get the suspension properly settled before you make any adjustments to the ride height. It will take that long to settle down.

When I installed Boges all around, my car also looked like a 4x4. It took almost 500 miles for the car to settle. I would do at least one month of driving before adjusting. The Boges take allot of driving for them to settle at first. After that, it only takes about 50 miles every time you jack up the car.

Earlier car may not have adjusters in the front.

Used ones from later cars can be fitted with the shocks off the car.

The bolts holding the rear bearing on the lower control arm should be tightened when the car is sitting on its wheels and the suspension has settled, if not the front will never settle to the right height.

P 40 - 15 workshop manual.

Well, I'll be. After doing the motor mounts on my car I torqued the lower control arm bolts with the car still in the air, wheels hanging. I let the car down off the lift and drove home. A day or two later I read a comment like this one, without the FSM reference, so I went out to the driveway and scrunched under the car with a wrench and completely undid the bolts. The car didn't drop a MM. And my bushing are in good condition.
