Anyone have any feedback on the BRIDGESTONE POTENZA SPORT 245/45R16 94Y tires? Looking to get some tires for my Club Sport wheels. Probably get 4 245/45/16 for all for corners. Club Sports are 8” front and 9” rear. Currently running 235/40/18 in front (8” wide) on Carrera III and looks like 245/45/16 fits same space except adjustment for ride height.
I have had Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres on my 1988 S4 for the last 6 years -- the usual 225/50-16 front and 245/45-16 on the rear.
I have been happy with the all round performance and handling, wet and dry,and for a performance tyre they have been surprisingly durable
and are still showing plentyof tread.Replacement is on the way as the sidewall shows they are now 8years old.
Two complaints:
The majority of New Zealand roads have a coarse chip seal and it is difficult to find a "quiet "tyre" but the Potenza,s are very noisy and tyre roar
is intrusive.Any smooth seal surface and the sound levels are more than acceptable. This should not be a problem in the U.S.
The 928 is not my daily drive and if left in the garage for more than a couple of weeks the Bidgestone,s seem to flatten and give a bumpy ride
for a short period until they warm up.
Regards Terry.

Spot on review as I have a set of Bridgestones on the XX8 91 GT. Drove them three weeks ago and they were a bit flat spotted, But they rounded out again after about three miles. Wear is not something I get to experience with so many cars in the collection so I can not comment on that. Road noise? 928's offer a great listening environment - especially at speed...
The only real alternative is the Pirelli P7 replicas that many of us put on our 16 inch wheels celebrating original cars.
I have Pilots on all of the 928's that are shod with larger wheels - far superior experience to any 16 inch wheel combination. 16's are for show - not go...

What's the advisability of putting these on the standard S4 staggered setup-7" ET 65 front, 8" ET 52.3 rear? Clearance issues or fitment issues on too narrow a rim?
I will need tires soon and would rather not mount a set of mismatched tires.

No problem for the rear axle, as this is the original size but the front rims are too narrow and you should stick to the 225/50R16.
I see multiple places have 245/45/16 available , but not 225/50/16. they don't show 225/50/16 at all, only 205/50/16.
I'm looking at 245/45/16 for all four corners as I have 8" Club Sport for the fronts, 9' for the rears.
Bob,
The 928 was designed by Porsche with understeer in mind which to be fair, is probably a pretty good design strategy for your average dentist's wife who drove these things when new to help ensure they did not go *** first into a tree.
For those who are more performance oriented more front rubber is essential as I am concerned and fitting a 245 to your front 8 inch wheels is no problem and highly desirable I would suggest. A friend of mine did exactly this to his S4 kitted with the CS wheels he ran it with and loved the ride it gave. Indeed theoretically such rubber can even be fitted to stock S4 7.5 inch front 16 inch wheels at a pinch when pushing the defined acceptable fitment envelope albeit I would want to try such before recommending that.
