Default Fuel Accumulator deleted?

My manual swap is on hold due to zero significant free time, meanwhile I thought I'd tackle a simple job in the fuel accumulator. I have a classic hot start issue. I took off the inner fender cover passenger side rear, and I'm missing a fuel accumulator. Things look pretty stock here and I checked the PET. 1981 fyi.

well OK your car did not come with an accumulator in this fenderwell ,
What fuel injection system do you have on this chassis?
try replacing the fuel pump check valve instead,
Roger sells them.
If the injectors are old get them cleaned or replace them

CIS car or L-Jet? L-Jet cars don't have it. I think '81 was the transition year. Pet shows both the filter and the accumulator in that position for '81. Where is your filter?

Yes, but I don't think it is normally there for CIS cars. If he does have CIS, perhaps someone swapped the motor at some point.

It's an Ljet. Filter is next to the fuel pump at the tank. Both were replaced previously. If it helps I have the 81 variant with the 85mph speedo.

L jet equipped 928s never had an accumulator.

Swap in a new check valve like recommended above and see if your fuel pump relay primes the pump. If not, you need another one of those too.
