Default Door Pin Switch Wire Access

Before I drill... I have a broken wire to the door pin switch on an '85, it wasn't working and the Window relay was staying active until I opened the passenger door
Question:
Is there any access to the compartment where I can retrieve the broken wire, the pin switch hole is too small for my bore scope and grabber claw.
Else thinking of drilling a 1/2"-13mm hole to find and manipulate the broken wire.

Thanks in advance,

Dave K

Are you sure the wire is broken?
I just had the same problem and discovered that if I "flicked" the switch it worked.
So I sprayed into it liberally with Deoxit and exercised it several times and now it's fine.

Pretty sure you can access the wire from inside of the car.

While fixing the door switch I dropped the wires inside the pillar. Fished them out with a piece if baling wire. Wasn't easy but I couldn't find another option.

get a piece of mechanics wire,
put a tight U in it push it into the pin switch hole and start fishing,
I guess it takes you 3 mins to hook it

Thank you Stan, I'll give that a try, hopefully wire is long enough to pull out of the hole
I've had dirty pin switches, never one without a wire connected to it.

The wire comes from the inside of the car It travels thru the side panel right behind the lower part of the dash. You should see a brown and white wire go thru the side panel and this should connect to the door switch. It may be hidden behind the carpet on the side panel but should be easy to locate. The hardest part is fishing it back thru the two holes to attach the new switch. I can send you a picture if it would help.

If memory serves, it enters a small black grommet under the side carpet. I have had luck using a stiff piece of wire to reinsert it

Scratch another repair from the list on this 245k mile 1985 manual
Also that week I replaced the HVAC Head unit (blower now works), Fixed the Fog Lights by replacing the X Buss relay as suggested in another thread.

That's a good looking shark. Extra kudos on the caliper color.

Cheers
