Another Euro 8" headlight question
My 79 Euro 8" headlight lenses are broken. Can I just replace them with a 7" set, like the ones sold at topgearautosport.com? TIA.

Yes but you will need to add the plastic trim ring. You can also but the 7" headlight at most auto part stores as it was used in many American cars in the 70's

You can by plastic replacement lenses from 928srus for sure. If you do, post a DYI, I am curious about how one does that.

Roger at 928srus has replacement polycarbonate lenses. Hardest part of replacing the lens is getting permission from your wife to use her oven. If permission is not obtained, you can use a heat gun. The lens is held to the reflector with butyl rubber tape. Amazon has several different brands. I used Morimoto, but others are cheaper and probably just as good. Using a heat gun or oven you heat the reflector and broken lens to the point where the butyl rubber softens and releases its grip. If you are using an oven, 15 minutes at 225 should do it. Pull old glass and butyl off the reflector and then fill the recess in the reflector with new butyl tape, put reflector back in the oven and bake again until the butyl gets good and soft. Put on oven mitts or good thick gloves, mate the lens to the reflector and squeeze. Let cool and you are done. Lots of info on this process on this website

First you need to purchase grey butly rubber sealant (such as Morimoto from Retrofit). No affiliation)
Next, you need your wife to go to the Mall because you need the oven
Heat to 150 degrees F (others have tried 125 degrees and some found joy at 200 degrees F
Put headlights for 10-15 mins to soften the old glue
Carefully remove the old lens
re-glue the headlight
Install new lens
P.S. I just saw Otto beat me to it
