Default Introduction

Hi all, I have been following the 928 form for some time and thought it would be nice to introduce myself here.

I am gertjan, 52 years old, living in the Netherlands, and had have been driving Porsche for some 10 years. Owned both a manual 993 and a 964 c2 manual the latter of which I sold last year. Then I upgraded to the 928…

I have been fascinated by the 928 ever since I read a road test comparison between a Jaguar XJ-S and a 928 somewhere in the mid-80s, and last year I decided I should try to own one. Through Dutch 924/944/968/928 specialist The Loods Garage, I got in contact with a Norwegian owner of a late manual GTS, the owner of which was nice enough to have me drive the car for a day so I could test it and have it checked. Then I was hooked, but unfortunately we did not manage to agree on the trade.

As proper 928s are rare and manuals even more rare I did not reckon to find another car quickly, but through The Loods I got in a contact with an owner of a very well sorted white 928 S4 manual only 25 KMS from where I live. Few days later it became my car.

The car is a January 1988 car, with 200k kms on the clock. Engine was fully rebuilt 5 years ago by The Loods. Meticulously maintained, no sunroof, sport seats, LSD, and from factory equipped with the sport suspension. Technically close to perfect, cosmetically used. Pulls like train.

Hope to find tips and tricks and good company here. Need to sort out some HVAC issues, and I consider a full suspension rebuilt as the car seems to be on its original shocks and dampers.
