I bought a one owner 1978 928. The woman I bought it from gave it to her son who proceeded to remove the complete interior to reglue.all the panels.and I now have many boxes of parts to figure out. It did come with the original radio and complete tool kit and new clutch plus new tires mounted on 16in phone dials The car was last reg'd in 2017. l Would like to post pix of it as now sits but I don't have a clue on how to do so. Also missing the passenger side seat. Car came with a huge folder of receipts going back to 1981 and was last registered in 2017.

Get yourself the PET and look through the pictures of the early car interiors on RL threads. Its not that hard to put an interior back in provided the person who removed it didnt damage the parts too bad. The PET will help with identifying the fasterns you need (dia and length and to some extent, their location), but its pretty obvious where they go. Its a good time to replace the dash and refinish the pod if cracked (and clean up any wiring issues, test and replace any of the HVAC vacuum pods). I will say that reinstalling the center console and specifically hooking up the HVAC controls in a 78-79 car is a test of patience, a challenge for fat fingers and requires good technique (loosely install the console and reconnect the vacuum lines and blend door cable before tightening up - its still a PIA for me). If you do want to recone or replace the speakers and rebuild the radio and tuner, now is the time to do it. Be sure to clean all the grounds and connectors in the cargo area that are now exposed. New vinyl or leather pieces are avilable from Classic9. Everything else is pretty straight forward.

Thanks for the incites Dmhager. The guy who took it apart did put all the bits into well marked baggies. Also several new parts. I think he was going to reglue all the panels and repaint the body. There are a lot of things on the early cars that are different from My 83 models. I only paid fifteen Hundred for this so, first thing is to get it running and go from there. I wish I knew how to post pix on this website. Also don't Have PET or know where to get that. Thanks again.

Halfway down this page: https://www.porsche.com/usa/accessor...artscatalogue/
There's a dropdown menu to get the PDF version of PET for 78-82 (and the other years as well)
