Excessive fuel consumption '84 Euro S (twin dizzy)

My new S2/S3 personal opinion is swap to the PNP VEMs from Peep. Delete/sell the MAF. Its a money wash in the long run and you can easily see what's going on plus have WBO constant tuning. No computer joints to break or endless troubleshooting. Or at least that's what I'm doing. Also opens up more injector choices. I went to the 4 hole injectors like Darklands pointed out.
Broken MAF core = $400
LH/EZF pair = $500-800

Hi TM,
this week I was with both cars at the shop, doing the calibration of the MAF!
84 S CO is 0,9 %
86 S CO is 0,7 % AFR from 10,6 at full trottle
This is with new Bosch injectors from Bavarian
Adapt Motorsport fuel damper and regulators
New MAFs from JDS
JDS performance chips
Renovated top end and vaccum system
So my package is doing right in both cars
I was ill and have a lot of anger with my biogas facility insurance, the package goes next week in the mail.
Hope this helps!

Nice! Do you know the final Ohm settings of the MAF's for these CO-values?
No problem for the computers, I'll be skiing next week, so no time to try out anything anyway!

UPDATE:
I received Darklands' ECUs, but my car won't start with them. It's the LH unit that causing this (swapping in only the EZF and it runs fine). The LH was working fine in Darklands '84.
My car wants to start, and I can get it running very rough if I give it lots of throttle, but it really wants to die. (No throttle and it dies immediately.)
I also get a strong fuel smell after a few tries, not sure from where, I smell it inside the car, but the doors were open. No smell under the hood. It could have come from the exhaust, probably, as the engine was struggling to start and unburnt fuel made its way out the back.
I figured: my MAF is turned all the way down when CO was adjusted. It reads 0.3 Ohm between pins 3-6. As a result, the "new" LH unit may make the mixture way too lean, causing the rough start. Is that plausible?
I wanted to turn the pot on the MAF back up, but now it won't change the resistance (see other thread).
I tried with a disconnected MAF, but it will still not start smoothly using the "new" LH.
Now, I have to assume Darklands LH unit is working fine, it was when it was installed last year. But I can't get my car to run with it. (same serial numbers)
So if it won't start, even with MAF disconnected, is there something else to look at, or would we be so unlucky that somewhere between last year and now the LH unit broke down while in storage?

I don't have anything else to investigate, so apologies, but related to what was posted above, and given the results of your new experiment, have you thought about using @PorKen chips to fix things dynamically? I know that this would not address the underlying issue but it might serve to get the car to a place where it performs less variably.
Alternatively, can you use SharkTuner PEMs with your car? Not for tuning necessarily, but as diagnostic tools? There's a great deal of information that they can output. I don't know if there's someone that can lend you their chipped LH and EZK, but maybe that would provide some further information about what's going on.
Good luck

I have everything from a 84 s2 car in spare parts(MAF, LH, EFZ, injectors, fuel regulators etc.) , I am living in Netherlands we could meet up and do some testing.
Let me know, I have a garage box for working on my car, with quickjacks...and tools...

So, my MAF has been repaired and my EZF+LH have been tested and work perfectly as they should. They are on their way back here.
Next in line will be the injectors. A spare set, known to work fine, would come in handy to eliminate whether mine are actually the cause. Everything points in that direction however.
Recap on the injectors: Mine were replaced in 2021 by a workshop in Germany, before I bought the car. I've contacted that workshop, but the actual source of the injectors is now unknown. All I have is an invoice indicating €800 for the parts, work was separate. Injectors are orange, have the number 0280150252 on them, but no Bosch branding. At Garage De Loods, they said they look exactly like the ones they buy from 928srus, including the text on the attached hoses. Not conclusive on whether they are actually the same injectors or not.
Darklands bought injectors from bavarianwerke. As far as I know, those are original bosch parts, but will have other serial numbers than the no longer available 0280150252. Roger replied in that thread that he sells the same injectors, but I'm a bit confused because mine look like those from 928srus, but are clearly different from those from Darklands (mine are not original Bosch parts, not sure if 928srus sells original Bosch parts? and if so, which serial numbers?).
I'm thinking of buying a set from bavarianwerke, but their site is untransparant: they offer 2 sets "perfect for the 928 S2" but with different characteristics. I have the impression that last year, they were selling 4-hole injectors "perfect for the S2", and now both sets in the webshop are 2 hole injectors (I think). So that would already be more than 2 sets of "perfect injectors for the S2".
I would like to ask Karsten (Darklands) if you could find out the actual Bosch serial number on your sets of injectors from bavarianwerke?

Ηi, late last year I purchased a set of injectors from bavarianwerke myself.
I first contacted them by email and they asked me to send them a photo of my then current injectors, before their advising on the suitable set of injectors to be purchased. Once I did that, they said that it was clear to them which injectors were required and they sent me a set. Please note however that I have yet to install them [will do soon].
Hope this helps.
