Default Strange gauge behavior

Just wondering bc if anyone has experienced this before (I know erratic. Gauges are very common and often due to ground issues - this one seems a bit different…

Might be finding a ground through the speedo pulse mechanism???

My 81 Euro S had needle flutter like that. I never was able to resolve it even after cleaning the ground connections in the footwell. If you haven't cleaned those, see if that makes a difference.
