We have rebuilt exchange alternators, in stock.
Both Bosch rebuilds and more economical "locally rebuilt" units.

No, these are stock rebuilds.
We do offer our high output Bosch alternator with a custom billet front housing (to fit the 928), but these are considerably more expensive.

If this is the shop in Yucaipa, CA, then I've used them. They rebuilt the alternator for my '85. Everything works they way should and it appears to have much more output than originally (in the 160 amp range). However, I dropped it off and picked it up (took them a week).

I've had no problems, but I also have not driven my car more than a 300 miles in the past 2 years. Prices were reasonable.

Worth mentioning, I've also got "stacks" of used alternators, left over from installing our high output alternators.
And I can't recall ever installing one of our high output units on a car with a non functional alternator....this is always an upgrade.
Great cores, at a minimum.

Okay, I am interested.
What is the amperage of your high output alternators?
To what applications do you recommend switching to a high output alternator over the stock?
Can you give a price on one of these ?

To what applications do you recommend switching to a high output alternator over the stock? People/we have put them on every model from 1985 to 1995, with the later model vehicles suffering the most from heat soak, fans, A/C system, big stereo systems, headlights on, etc. As these cars have aged, the current requirements have also aged, from components that draw more current to alternators that don't work as well as they did, when new.
In short, people that have cars which drop below 12 volts (actual, not on the gauge) at idle, with multiple consumers on, love out part.

Currently $995 (I think that Mary has a couple "tucked away.). I'm about ready to have a new run of billet housings done (which will cost more, without a doubt.) Additionally, the sources of the new alternators have raised their prices. I sincerely doubt that the next "batch" will remain at this price.

Here you go.
