The fluid where the pushrod goes into the rubber tells me to replace.
The rusty pushrod supports that, also.

Replace.

It's not 100% related but I'm pretty sure this kind of defect is what has been causing me some pain on the slave cylinder for the SMG on my BMW. Ugh.

Make sure you get a S 4 slave cylinder Last one I bought was 375.00 and at the time was also the last one in stock
the 86 slave is smaller and will not release the clutch far enough thus it will wear out your new disc pretty fast

look for my 88 5 speed thread the black one for pictures of the slave differences

Actually, this is for my GTS with a twin disc.

I will take a look.
