Default Belly Pan??

Team 928,
I have my newly acquired 928 and would like to know if there should be a belly pan? I put the car in the air and don't see anything covering from the front bumper back? If so, does anyone have a pic and part numbers?

Thank you,

Yes, either one or two, depending on what year your 928 is. What year is your 928?

Jerry Feather makes a replacement that's better than the original. Thicker material, stainless, and has adjustability in the attachment points.

He paints them, but I had him leave mine unpainted so I could polish it out.

Thanks for the plug on my Early Belly Pans. However mine are made out of 6061 T651 aluminum in .063 thickness which is about 50% heavier than the original aluminum Pans. They are not "stainless."

My mistake Jerry. Thanks for the correction and for making such a great product. I polished mine and then sealed it with Sharkhide to preserve the polished look. After 1 year, looks just like it did when I installed it 👍

Thanks again for the posts about my Belly Pan. I have to say that it really looks JFB. Too bad it has to live under the car. At least you and I know what it looks like, aside from your great posts about it.

Then you have the one piece pan used from 78-86, made from steel early on then changed to aluminum (Saving a whopping 854 grams vs. steel). Jerry's pan is what you're looking for. They were satin black, from the factory.

Jerry, a bit off topic, but while you're here, do you have any more of those filler strips you made for the sides of the windshields that go between the metal trim and the windshield glass? I need an additional pair if you could PM me. It's the only thing that eliminated the wind noise on my 84 and I want a pair for my 79 Spyder. Thanks.

As to my Windshield Gap Filler Strips, there is a design flaw in them and I have not quite figured it out yet. They tend to blow out at high speed. I'm giving that some thought and if I can figure it out I will make some more.

I've tested mine to over 100 mph and actually inserted the ends into some weatherstripping I installed under the top horizontal metal trim so they're very secure. I'd take a set of the current design if you still have some.

Well, I don't have any now, but what you suggest is encouraging since I think that the only need may be in trimming them a bit differently. I'll get some more of then formed and let you know.

One of mine blew off pretty easily on first use. Havent had a chance to try to diagnose yet.
