Very nice Ben - happy the tubes are being put to immediate good use, and they look great! One other thing, get those missing straps for the airbox - any dirt getting past the air filter can end up going into and scoring your cylinders, causing compression issues and degrading performance. That is the most important thing I see.

Jerry - I'll post up in the other thread when I get the cover and put it on. Looking forward to getting it. Your tubes should arrive in a couple of days.

It is highly distorted and poorly installed and ill fitting. The fit I think has to do in part with the displacement of your firewall which apears to me to be way too far forward. There is a thread on here somewhere way back about fitting the Cowl Cover and moving the firewall to the correct position to do it.

There is a small-time Sponsor on here who goes by ReDesign by FEATHER who makes an outstanding replacement Cowl Cover for all of the 928s, including LHD and RHD and early, late and S4 versions. I just traded one of them to Ed L in this thread for a pair of his intake tubes and he should have them tomorrow. I am hoping that if he gets a chace to install the Cover and new Seal he will post a picture here for you to compare with your's.

Also your cross brace between the shock towers is slightly bowed.

Over all you have a 928 to be proud of.

ok you got me on the firewall being adjustable but yes it needs one of your covers and also on my short list for spring. The brace is straight. That was a recent purchase I wonder if it is optical illusion from the picture.?

short list for over the winter

cowl cover
air filter straps
fix driver side bolster
find rear carpet piece
adjust e brake
finish detailing
new power steering reservoir
hood switch installation

then in spring put some miles on it while I do the EFI conversion on my 914-6 and likely sell the 928

Thanks, Ben, for putting your need for the Cowl Cover and Seal on the top of your list, and ordering them. I shipped them today and they should be there Monday. I'll PM you the thracking number.

If you feel like your reservoir is OK, I just replaced mine and would be happy to send you the cap. I mean, I can send you the whole reservoir but I don't know how many miles it had on it, and new ones are relatively cheap. Still, you're welcome to the cap, which is in fine shape, if you want it.

Lovely car and engine bay, I aspire to that state for my S4.

Cheers

thanks I appreciate it. I have a new one I just need to install that. Maybe over the holiday weekend I will do that.

I just trying to get this car to a level the next owner will be able to really enjoy it. I am thinking of trying to sell via BAT in spring. I really am getting attached to the car but really don’t have room for 2 914s , 2 944s , 1 928, and 5 daily drivers for the family. I fear once I start driving the car it will really set its hooks into me.
