Default 16V Head stud came out

1984 M28/19
Doing head gaskets etc on this motor now... for background it has around 60k miles and what appears to be good care. Very minimal head degradation, low end play, clean cooling jackets, decent cyls etc.

When pulling the heads one of the head studs uncrewed out of the block... pretty easily too because the head nut was not excessively stuck on the stud. There doesn't seem to be any trauma in the block hole, did my best on that pic. No excessive corrosion on the stud either. What happened here? These things are usually pretty hard to get out. What's the best way to anchor it back in?

Loctite 263 or 2620 and one end will never see daylight again. If you already have old green or blue, those may do the trick as well.

The studs are loctited into the block with red loctite.
To remove them heat the area around the stud.

I use a Mapp gas torch you need about 250F to loosen the loctite.
Use two of the nuts on the stud turned against each other to unscrew the stud.

A few things you need to know,
If you must to clean the threads,
use an old stud and cut 3 flutes on the first few threads to chase the block threads.
NOTE DO NOT use any type of tap or thread chaser to clean the threads,
as this could remove metal that could /will cause the stud to pull out when its torqued
NOTE use a bore brush to clean the threads with acetone. Blow out with air.
NOTE before you set the stud into the block, make sure that you know how deep it was screwed into the block.
IOW measure the studs before you remove them, so they can be put back into the block at the proper height.
NOTE when your ready to set the studs, add the loctite to the stud then install it then set the measure of the height of the stud,
Then you can use the old head gasket and fit the head , then torque the bolts to 20 FT lbs,
this will set the studs as the loctite cures.
