Thanks. At this hour, there are some sporadic gusts and steady rains, but the next 12 hours will be the test.
I am at 11' which is fairly high for this area, but water is still the concern. The last time a tree fell on the house,
the tree asked to go to the emergency room.

This storm is no joke and will be catastrophic! Stay safe over there on the West Coast of Florida!

Can you drive to parking garages and get to the higher floors?

Or as we have seen, and the East Coast, too!

I prepped like crazy for this one (trimmed trees, moved stuff inside, shuttered windows), and fortunately for us, it took one of at least two un-forecast turns which spared us the brunt of Ian.

These Hurricanes have a mind of their own. I personally know of two instances where folks relocated based on the forecast, only to have it hit where they relocated to!

News said a lot of injuries/deaths occur post storm during cleanup, so be careful moving around in the aftermath (downed power lines, water on road hiding ditches) and during recovery and cleanup efforts too!

928 was safely immobile on a lift at a shop!

Hope everyone is safe and sound. My cousin lives near Tampa and was relieved when the storm turned.
I hope Sanibel fared better than they did a couple of years ago with Irma. I really like that place, would love to make that my winter home in retirement (but wife won't have it) I saw that the causeway suffered serious damage.
Hopefully most car enthusiasts have a plan for this kind of thing. As opposed to this guy:
