Speaking of desirable specs: what happened to Marc White’s ‘85 (‘86?) Euro 16v 5-speed repainted in ‘94 Iris Blue with the laser-etched Paul C. interior?

[Rainman]

There are 1001 1986 ROW M28.22 '86 Euro S automatics

242 of them are sunroofless.

23 have sports seats.

13 German market, 10 Swiss market (low compression...), 3 UK market (RHD), 1 Holland, 1 Belgium.

Focusing on the 13 German market cars, there's literally a skittles bag of colors:

Black (1), Dark Blue (1), Garnet Red metallic (1), Grand Prix White (1), Guards Red (2) Meteor Metallic Gray (2), Silver Green Diamond Metallic (2), Silver metallic (1), White Gold metallic (1), Paint to sample (1)

They're out there....

All the Euro S 86's have the "US 86.5" specs- 4 piston Brembos, S4 suspension geometry, etc.

Question. I have a German market 86 that has the 32V. Is it still considered an ‘S’? I’m assuming so since it has all the suspension and spoilers?

Yes it is an S. It's the case were something is VERY rare because nobody wanted it. The 1st 32 Valve engine was a booboo and corrected very quickly. When we say "EURO" we mean the twin dizzy 16 valve engine which maybe we should call an S2 which was it's name in the British market.

Well… $h1+. This teaches me not to commit to memory anything “discovered” at SITM, Sunday at 2AM after two or seven beers.

4892 ‘86s sold world wide. 2780 US. 2100-ish RoW. (Numbers from Jeannie’s site.) Assuming model-year bleed from ‘85 to calendar 86 and ‘86 to calendar 87 cancels out then that’s 47.x% automatics.

Surprising for RoW.

Kenneth's must be the german car that was originally garnet red . The burgundy sports seats are nearly perfect. The earl scheib paint job could be reversed.

Kenneth was apparently told by Roger, over the phone, a few months ago..."step away from the car...valuable" but Kenneth and his family are humble and worthy owners.

Again, beautiful cars. Eric drove Turq, too another favorite of mine. George has the burnt orange Coral red masterpiece. Bertrands blue car is stunning.

But I'm spoiled...
Thanks Landseer...

Ya, thanks. I’m very familiar with the 84-86 twin dizzy EURO. Just curious if the ROW 32v’s were considered anything different. Besides low HP 😂

I'm possibly a bit weird when it comes to pinpointing my most desirable spec:

80-82* Euro S with no sunroof, manual seats, full leather, no rub strips and riding on 16" teledials. Either auto or manual. To me the most pure based off of the original design BUT with the 300hp CIS engine the car should have had right out of the gate!

Second choice would be an 84 Euro S in some combination.

*Not including the 83 MY due to the interior updates that I don't care for; digital clock, uniform dash and pod etc.

That's so weird....kindred spirits.

My 81 Euro S 5-speed (but with sunroof and rubbies) and manual 997 sport seats

That I traded for my 84 Euro S Auto (no rubbies, no sunroof, no side markers, no antenna - just completely smooth body lines) with manual 991 sport seats

The 81 was more fun to drive, but the 84 is a nicer overall car.

Quick Reply: Is this the most desirable 928 spec?
