Thanks guys

while I’m waiting for a title I got the car in my shop and took off the bumper to take a look at the extent of the damage. Luckily the bumper is fine with no damage. The shock absorbing bumper mount on the passenger side is compressed and did its job as a sacrifice. Looks like minimal work to get this one back together.

I would suggest to replace both front shocks unless you have measured

the shocks will have 70 mm from the the rear of the bumper mount to the bolt head surface the shocks are one time use when ordering new used make sure to ask for 70 mm or you will be doing the job again
928 Intl is familiar with this

Note the Euros came with can s instead of shocks the shocks will prevent damage better than the cans these parts are interchangeable

I see this car has M058 option shock absorber front bumper instead of tube. Are these the same on the US spec cars?

any 928 with wrinkled fenders or a damaged bumper cover, but otherwise straight and fairly complete is always interesting. replacement body parts are almost free. and if you're going to go all out and do a good repaint, you want the front bumper cover off anyway. i don't recall anyone in the dfw area stumbling across anything like that lately. the days of the "beater behind the dump" truck seem to be long over in this area....

70 mm shock can be reinstalled
Note the giveaway is to see how the fog lamps line up behind the lower front edge of the PU once everything is installed it will be clear if the shocks are even or damaged

Great news!! Finally got a clean title. Went to Porsche and got a key made. Only took 3 days and I got a new key and it actually works in all the locks plus ignition.

Well I didn’t want to do too much until getting a title. I have started to go through the electrics. I cleaned up the body and engine bay yesterday. I’ve been contemplating whether to keep it or just get it running and sell it.

Rare find!...

This is what they look like when unmolested. Great that you have yours. Try to find a similar way to tie the tag to the belts.

Well I thought I’d give an update for those interested. I’ve been getting a lot accomplished.
Dropped the fuel tank and drained 15 gallons of old gas. Had to use Krud Kutter and a power washer to clean the tank.
Replaced fuel pump, filter, strainer, sender, and rubber hoses.
Intake removed for a refresh and injectors sent out for a clean.
I’ve had an injector harness on order since Feb. it’s coming from Germany and I have no clue when it will get here. In the meantime since I have this harness removed I might repair it to see if I can get her fired up while waiting for the new one.
Installed correct spark plugs and wires.

Ive been amassing parts for the front end to giver the nose job she deserves Still need a few odds and ends. I just tacked the bumper cover on there so it looks like a real car.
