Bad news yesterday, I’ve had an injector wire harness on order since Feb. got an email stating it was discontinued. Ughh. I did a very good job repairing the old one but I was hoping for brand new wires.
I got the harness spliced and new TPS and air temp pig tails added. It’s nice having access to an avionics repair shop.
I’m almost certain this car was parked with a fuel delivery problem back in 05. I found copies of the CE panel diagram with fuel pump relay highlighted inside the car.
I ran all the continuity checks on the repaired harness and hooked it up. Turned over the engine and presto, fuel flowed nicely. Just got the injectors back from the shop so now the intake goes back together and fingers crossed I should be able fire it up today or tomorrow.

Got it all back together and it runs so
smooth. Fired right up!! Almost 20 years dormant and it’s back alive. Shifts smooth as well. Definitely sounds different than my 83 US.

Well it’s been awhile since I’ve posted and would like to share some progress. I’ve pretty much done everything in the engine area except timing belt and new drive belts. Over the summer I rebuilt the steering rack, changed motor mounts, and new silicone oil pan gasket. Installed new injectors and did an intake refresh. Went through the entire CE panel and discovered a few bad relays. Everything electrical is working and in good condition. Now it’s time to focus on the body. I picked up a used Euro fender when I was out in PA. I need to find a good body shop that can paint a 928 very well.
After sitting for over 20 years I pulled her out of the garage today under her own power!!

Absolutely worth it. It was so difficult to originally asses this car. It looked pretty ratty. Everything is pretty solid and it runs very well. Of course I had to sort through everything but that’s the best enjoyment for me.

Title was pretty easy. AZ has an abandon vehicle process to get a clean title. I paid the land owner’s wife extra money to sign the paperwork and sign over the title to me when they mail it. Took a few months but was a must for me if I was going to invest time and money.
