Hello all, I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Aaron and I picked up my 928 from a fellow Rennlister back in February. She had been sitting (garaged) for the better part of the past 20 years so while it's was in really good shape there was some work to be done. My goal has been to knock out two things a week, which, before I knew it I now feel like I can drive it anywhere. Next thing is paint so I wanted to be sure to share pics in it's current state. I wanted to thank this community as every single fix has been found from the knowledge you all share with one another. I have owned a lot of special interest cars over the years and this group is second to none.
Next on the list is getting the AC working, fixing the clock (this is making me nuts), the high pressure washer, and heated seats. I also have a set of 17 inch Boxster S wheels I had refinished that I am thinking about fitting on the car, good thing I just bought new tires for the manhole covers (eye roll).
Nice! It looks like my old 88 5 speed in Venetian Blue over sand. What a great car it was! I sold it with well over 200k on it and running great. A true testament to how reliable well maintained and driven 928's can be.
Enjoy and keep us posted. I can't see why you need to paint the whole car. We need more photos. ;-)
Appreciate the kind words. At some point the car was repainted (pre '96) and while the job looks good from 10 feet the clear is starting to go in several areas. I could just do the front clip, which is the most egregious but at that point I may as well do the entire car.
That said, mechanically the car is in fantastic shape and runs out nicely now. Amazing how modern these cars still feel some 30 years later. I will post more pics for sure.
