Default What IS the proper battery....

...for my '79??? Everytime I look, it's a different "group" 41, 48, 49, sometimes with some letters attached; I'm starting to understand women's bra shopping.

It look's like there were a few different batteries used thru the years, so should I just get the biggest mother that will fit, with the highest CCA and slap her on in there??

Group 49 will fit your car, generally come in the order of 800 - 850 CCA.
As to your comment, "starting to understand women's bra shopping", I can't really be of much help, but must observe that a size 49 generally implies a high maintenance issue - and rather poor fuel economy.

I had to buy one for my '86 this last month. Group 49 Diehard International with 850 CCA for $100. My 86.5 takes the smaller Group 48 battery.

Cool, thanks guys. I'll go for the "49", and bring dimensions with me just to be sure.

And a special thanks to Garth for the chuckle
