1979 Euro/Auto Trans runs and drives.
To part or not to part is the question?

I think we're all in shock.
My opinion is that it would be a shame to part out a working car; it doesn't seem like it's too far off from being back to reasonably normal. That said, the market seems to be softening somewhat for these cars right now, so on a purely monetary basis, it might not make great sense to go through and make the car whole.
Cheers

Don't part it!!! It looks like it has great potential, from the perspective of a non-owner! It runs and drives? That alone makes it worthy IMO...

pop off the PU covers install new beading and you have a show car, whats not to love ?
NOTE based on all the other 928 shadows occupying space in your driveway you know what to do here.......
All it is is money G.

I part Corvettes for a living and Porsches for my hobby. I use a "seat of the pants" math formula typically to decide when to part or not on the Porsches. I also decide whether the car "speaks to me" or not. Are the EASILY removed parts worth more than what you have in it?
I see a Euro bumper and some pretty decent looking Euro fenders that should probably fetch a few dollars to the right person although shipping is typically a factor with larger items. On the positive side, Paint looks ok in the images, Reassemble, add back the body moldings and find an acceptable set of original seats and perhaps there is some profit that way.
I "fell in love" with my last two parts cars and wound up recommissioning them. Likely lost money

I really don't like parting them. But interior is stripped, paint job is very poor. If I wasnt trying to finish up 3 other cars I would keep it

Color change... poorly, 3 speed Auto, I'm assuming bad interior. I used to just automatically part cars like this but there is no shortage of fenders and doors and most of what this car has to offer for parts. Now a better use may be to sell to a young 928 enthusiast for them to play with, work on, learn, maybe get some use out of it, and maybe make them want a better one. These opportunities, in the right young hands, can help build the future of our aging community.
