Dropped behind engine

I (stupidly) managed to drop a short section (3 inch) of rubber hose behind the engine today. It disappeared in the direction of the top of the torque tube. I have put a borescope in various places from different directions (from the engine, from underneath) but have not managed to get sight to it (let alone remove it). Once I can see it, at least I can work out which bit under the car I need to remove to get to it. I already have the undertrays off.
Can anyone give me any advice of where I should look to try and track this down.

Down the back of the engine, doesn't hit the floor- my guess would be lodged between the bellhousing/torque tube and one of the exhaust heat shields, or if you were unlucky it fell through the window in the top of the bellhousing where the clutch release arm mounts in 5-speed cars. But I don't know if you have a left-hand drive vs. right-hand drive car, to know the odds of this happening.
Alternatively there are enough ribs and pockets in the bellhousing casting that it may just be trapped between the bellhousing and firewall. Perhaps just get under the car and poke your hand up and around the sides and top of the upper bellhousing.
