Default Thermostat Housing

Hi, I have removed the T/ Housing to replace all of the seals / thermostat etc. Does anybody recommend / know of any additional sealant or stuff that can be used to help prevent seepage when it is all put back together?

I used a little dish soap so it didn;t grab on the housing to head, didn't use anything on the thermostat ring.

The trick is to get the surfaces clean. Then don't use anything and it'll be fine.

If the surfaces are corroded then I'll employ a thin coat of hardening gasket maker. (Like permatex "#1") That will be hard to get off next time.

Silicone grease for all the o-ring seals.

Yes cleanliness is very important for o-ring seals. Polish and clean the seal seating surfaces before assembly.
